About Us

About Us
Design Group Pty Ltd is the leading manufacturer of poker machine bases, privacy screening, TAB walls and general custom joinery for pubs, clubs, hotels, and casinos in New South Wales. Our team has 25 years’ experience in venues of all shapes and sizes, throughout New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, the Australian Capital Territory, and Queensland. With a reputation for delivering a premium service and product without the premium price tag, it really is no surprise that we become the preferred joinery solution for venues. Our reputation is not just built on our experience alone, but in complement to our attentive customer service and flexibility. From initial consultation and advice, through to manufacture, installation, and post installation service- we will be there to answer all of your questions or concerns along the way. We are experienced in last minute alterations and can adapt to these changes with ease. No job is too big or too small, and we encourage venues to be creative with their ideas and designs, to help you gain or maintain a lead on your competitors. It is for this reason, that we don’t use a ‘catalogue’ style of products- everything we produce is custom made for your venue. Why settle for standard, when you can stand out?

Our Process

This may be your first time engaging a specialised joinery business such as Design Group- and dealing with us (the manufacturers) directly is the best way to keep costs down. With a straight line of communication from client to manufacturer, any last minute changes can be implemented with greater speed and ease. Our aim is to deliver a first class atmosphere for your patrons, without the first class cost, and everything that we produce is tailor made for your venue's needs. The process begins with a consultation, where we will discuss the aim of the renovation, and at this stage we can make recommendations based on our extensive experience. Some reasons for updating your room may include; Creating more space between players. More privacy for patrons as they move in, out, or through your floor. Adding TVs or other elements to privacy screening to promote in-house events. Tired or bland poker machine bases that are in need of an update. Columns and walls that benefit from a cladding treatment. Elevating the ambience of the room- by changing the colour and finish of your bases (darker or lighter board and benchtop colour/design), and adding LED lighting, you can completely change the feeling of a room that will encourage your patrons to stay longer.

Design

For smaller room renovations and layout changes, we are happy to help- as with 25 years’ experience, we know what works in a gaming room. We often work with outside architects and design firms on large projects (such whole room and structutal reworks, colour palette, lighting and furnishing changes, et cetera). We can recommend designers that specialise in practical gaming room design for your next gaming room update, or major venue renovation that we have worked with previously. All of the smaller room layout changes and our production design work is completed in-house, only large scale architectural works are outsourced.

Manufacture / Construction

Our Sydney and Gold Coast factories are equipped with multiple CNC machines and specialised machinery that are capable of processing aluminium, particle board, MDF, plywood, plastics, and acrylic. This machinery allows us to quickly and efficiently produce consistently accurate items and allows us to incorporate design principals that aid in the construction process. Being able to process many materials in house enables us to keep a keen eye on the quality of the products that we produce and helps us keep pricing competitive, by reducing the amount of outsourced work. Our Sydney and Gold Coast teams are made of exceptionally skilled workers from many disciplines, each bringing their own strengths to the Design Group team. We can even powder coat in-house from our Sydney factory, which helps us keep lead times down on our powder coated components, such as our footrests, aluminium detail pieces/inlays, and privacy screen custom cut aluminium deco panels. When it comes to the production design of our products, we like to incorporate practical concepts into the design and considerations are made towards the completed product, where we like to have people stop and think “How did they do that…?” These considerations lead to ease of construction, and ease of installation, two very important opportunities to best utilise time- our most precious resource.

Delivery and Installation

We understand the importance of having your gaming room down for the least amount of time, and our team of experienced installers pride themselves on their ability to complete an installation promptly and professionally. We work with your schedule to provide the least disruption, so that you can reopen the floor and start making a return on your investment- as soon as possible.
